WHAT CLIENTS SAY
“As you might imagine, being the nation’s largest distributor of hardscape products to contractors and homeowners, weather has a major impact on our business. Whether it’s cultivating strategic responses to El Nino events or strategizing on product mix requirements across the four seasons, you need a reliable meteorologist to partner with your management team. Matt Makens is that partner for Pioneer Sand Company. Often times called our staff meteorologist, Matt has provided sound guidance, assisting us to be as responsive to changing weather as we are to our broad customer base. Not one to merely repeat what others are saying, Matt conducts thorough analysis through his own research, resulting in a solid foundation for his strategic guidance to companies and the community.”

The weather pattern is getting more active as we head into November. Several storm systems will bring rain to much of the country over the next week, with mountain snow in the West and the possibility of some snow reaching the High Plains early next week. Texas faces a more immediate concern, with heavy thunderstorms and localized flooding possible through Thursday. Meanwhile, much of the central and eastern United States will stay unusually warm for late October, with temperatures running 10 to 20 degrees above average in some areas. The biggest forecast question involves a developing Pacific storm that could bring widespread precipitation to California and eventually strengthen over the central Plains.
